Thézac belongs to the arrondissement of Villeneuve-sur-Lot and the canton of Le Fumélois (until 2015: canton of Tournon-d'Agenais ). The inhabitants are called Thézacais .

Thézac is located about 26 kilometers east-southeast of Villeneuve-sur-Lot . Thézac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montayral in the north, Mauroux in the east and northeast, Masquières in the southeast, Tournon-d'Agenais in the south and Bourlens in the west.
