The Canton Francesca was until 2015, Canton in the district Nerac in the Lot-et-Garonne in the region of Aquitaine in France .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "Nérac District". With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Nérac. From September 10, 1926 to June 1, 1942, the canton belonged to the Arrondissement of Marmande .

The canton bordered in the north on the canton of Nérac , in the east on the canton Laplume in the arrondissement Agen , in the south on the cantons Lectoure and Condom in the arrondissement Condom in the department of Gers ( Midi-Pyrénées ) and in the west on the canton Mézin .
