The canton Agen-Nord-Est was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Agen in the Lot-et-Garonne in the region of Aquitaine . Catherine Pitous ( PS ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département from 2011 to 2015 .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then "District Agen". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Agen.

The canton bordered the canton Laroque-Timbaut in the north and east , the cantons Agen-Sud-Est and Agen-Center in the south and the cantons Agen-Nord and Prayssas in the west .
