The canton of Westerhof existed from 1807 to 1813 in the Einbeck district ( Department of the Leine , Kingdom of Westphalia ) and was formed by the Royal Decree of December 24, 1807. Westerhof was affected by restructuring to finally determine the state of the communities in the department of the Leine on June 16, 1809. After this decree, the village of Oldenrode was added to the canton, while the communities of Olxheim and Rittierode fell to the canton of Einbeck (Land). The municipalities were then rearranged as follows.
