The canton Stadtoldendorf existed from 1807 to 1813 in the Einbeck district ( department of the Leine , Kingdom of Westphalia ) and was formed by the Royal Decree of December 24, 1807. Stadtoldendorf was affected by restructuring to finally determine the state of the communities in the department of the Leine on June 16, 1809. According to this decree, the communities Merxhausen, Hellental and Denkiehausen were split off, with the three communities Schorborn, Mühlenberg, Schießhaus and Golmbach added. The municipal division was reorganized as follows.
