Karl Anton von Bila

Karl Anton Ernst von Bila (born May 28, 1741 in Hainrode ; † January 22, 1820 in Burg (near Magdeburg) ) was a Prussian major general , head of the Magdeburg fusilier brigade and master of Hainrode.

Life

origin

Karl Anton came from the Thuringian nobility of the von Bila family . He was the son of the chamberlain and captain a. D. Alexander Reinhard Ernst von Bila and his wife Veronika Elisabeth, née von Rüxleben. Major General Rudolf Ernst von Bila was his brother.

Military career

In 1755 Bila became a cadet in the Guard Regiment of the Prussian Army and on June 26, 1756 avantageur in the grenadier battalion "von Kahlden" No. 1. With the battalion fought during the Seven Years' War from 1756 to 1763 in the battles of Prague , Kolin , Reichenbach and at he was wounded during the siege of Breslau , in the battles near Leuthen , Torgau and Moys . A year and a half later he became head of the Magdeburg fusilier brigade and, in the autumn of 1806, commander of Hanover. His withdrawal after the defeat of Jena and Auerstedt failed at Anklam with a surrender.

Bila was retired on January 19, 1813 with half pay as a grace salary and put up for disposition on September 2, 1813 .

Since September 29, 1775 he was married to Wilhelmine Auguste, born von Bomsdorff, widowed von Buchholz († November 1, 1815 in Burg). The marriage had four children:
