Karl Bernhard von Stülpnagel (born April 1, 1794 on Falkenberg , † September 28, 1875 in Berlin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

His parents were Alexander Ferdinand von Stülpnagel (1766–1809) and his wife Dorothea Elisabeth, née Schultze. The legitimation of the common children took place on April 7, 1803. His father was a prime lieutenant a. D. in the cuirassier regiment "von Borstell" , dike captain in the Prignitz and Herr auf Falkenberg .

Military career

Stülpnagel attended the Brandenburg Knight Academy and joined the voluntary hunters in the Brandenburg Hussar Regiment of the Prussian Army in the run-up to the Wars of Liberation on February 20, 1813 . During the war he fought in the battles of the Katzbach , Leipzig , Chateau-Thierry , Laon , Ligny , Belle Alliance and the battles at Löwenberg, La Chaussee, Claye , Versailles and took part in the transition at Wartenburg . At Ligny he earned the Iron Cross II class and at Claye Stülpnagel was shot in the leg. On January 10, 1814, he became a Portepeefähnrich and joined the Elb Landwehr Cavalry Regiment as a Second Lieutenant on March 8, 1814 .

After the war he was aggregated to the Queen's Dragoon Regiment on March 18, 1816 and transferred to the 1st Guard Uhlan Regiment on April 14, 1819 . By mid-April 1833, Stülpnagel advanced to Rittmeister and squadron chief . On April 23, 1842 he became a major and on November 13, 1845 a regular staff officer in the 7th Cuirassier Regiment . On October 14, 1848 he was appointed commander of the 7th Uhlan Regiment and in this position Stülpnagel rose to colonel until the beginning of December 1851 . On September 25, 1855, he came to the 12th Cavalry Brigade as commander . On November 15, 1855, he was placed à la suite of the 7th Uhlan Regiment. On October 15, 1855 he was appointed Major General conveyed and received on 17 May 1859 under presentation of the character as Lt. Gen. his farewell to board . He died in Berlin on September 28, 1875.

Stülpnagel married on October 15, 1823 in Stendal Eleonore (Laurette) Helene Theophile Ottilie Hippolyte von Bismarck (1805–1876) from the Briest house , a daughter of Levin Friedrich von Bismarck and his second wife Wilhelmine von Bismarck. The couple had several children:
