Levin Friedrich von Bismarck

Levin Christoph Friedrich August von Bismarck (* 19 February 1771 in Birkholz ; † 26. August 1847 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian district president of the administrative district of Magdeburg and is the 13th honorary citizen of the city of Magdeburg .

origin

He came from the Briest line of the von Bismarck family and was the son of the Prussian war and domain councilor Georg Wilhelm von Bismarck (1741-1808), landlord on Briest , Väthen , Welle , Demker and Schwarzlose in the Altmark and legal knight of the Order of St. John and the Eleonore von Alvensleben (1742–1805). The grandfather of the same name Levin-Friedrich von Bismarck was Prussian Minister of Justice.

Life

Like his father, Bismarck was a landlord on Briest and Welle as well as Grävenitz in the Altmark. He was Canon of Halberstadt and legal knight of the Order of St. John.

In 1825 Bismarck was next to the upper president of the province of Saxony Wilhelm Anton von Klewitz , who in personal union was also President of the Government in Magdeburg, was appointed district president. Bismarck held this office until 1838. When he left, he was made the 13th honorary citizen of Magdeburg.

family

He married Charlotte von Rauch (1780–1807), daughter of the Prussian major general Bonaventura von Rauch , director of the engineering academy in Potsdam, and his wife Johanna, nee Bandel, on September 26, 1802 in Potsdam . Levin Friedrich von Bismarck's first wife Charlotte died as a result of an infection while caring for wounded soldiers in Berlin.

From the marriage of Levin Friedrich and Charlotte von Bismarck comes the son Wilhelm von Bismarck (1803–1877), dike captain and member of the Reichstag .

In his second marriage, Levin Friedrich von Bismarck married on June 2, 1809 in Eichstedt near Stendal Wilhelmine von Bismarck (1776-1830), the daughter of the Prussian Supreme Court President Christoph von Bismarck , landlord on Döbbelin , Tornau and Crevese in the Altmark, and Charlotte Lobach . From this marriage there are a son and two daughters:

  • Adelaldine Emilie (1806-1807)
  • Klaus (1812–1867), Major a. D. ⚭ Konstanze von Schleinitz (1819–1908)
