Wilhelm von Bismarck-Briest (born December 20, 1803 in Potsdam , † March 14, 1877 in Karlsbad ) was a German politician and member of the Reichstag .

He was the son of the Prussian government president Levin Friedrich von Bismarck , landlord of Briest , Welle and Grävenitz in the Altmark , canon of Halberstadt and legal knight of the Order of St. John , and his first wife Charlotte von Rauch .

Bismarck attended the Knight Academy in Brandenburg Cathedral and studied law at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . During this time he undertook a trip to the Harz Mountains in 1825 , the diary of which has been preserved. In 1826 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . His political career began after he had settled down as a manor owner and moved into the provincial parliament of the province of Brandenburg . In 1840 he was a member of the Landtag of Homage and in 1847 of the United Landtag . He had been a member of the first Prussian Chamber of the Landtag since 1849 and a member of the II. Prussian Chamber from 1849 to 1855 . In 1855 he was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives in the constituency of Magdeburg 3 and remained a member there until 1870. He was a parliamentary group member in the Centrum until 1861 and then counted himself to the conservatives.

Bismarck-Briest was a member of the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament in 1850 . He was an elected member of the 3rd electoral district of Saxony (Osterburg, Stendal) and belonged to the Klemme faction .
