Baron Karl Friedrich Albrecht von Loeben (born April 30, 1730 in Königsberg in the Neumark , † after 1788) was a Prussian major .

Life

origin

Karl Friedrich Albrecht came from the Silesian noble family von Loeben . His parents were the Prussian major in the regiment Margrave Albrecht and Knight of the Order of St. John Heinrich Otto von Loeben († 1734) and Christine von Hagen .

career

Loeben began his career on 4 May 1743 as a Page in Margrave Karl , was also his body Page and entered on April 14, 1750 ensign in the old Prussian Infantry Regiment No. 19 (1806) . He advanced on 30 November 1752 to second lieutenant , on January 8, 1758 to first lieutenant , on November 11, 1760 to staff captain , and on 22 February 1762 real captain . In January 1768 Loeben received the order Pour le Mérite . In 1773 he was finally promoted to major. At the same time he became the commander of a grenadier battalion which arose from the grenadier companies of regiments No. 19 and No. 25 . In the War of the Bavarian Succession he acted as chief of these grenadiers from 1778 to 1779 . On November 4, 1782 to its dissolution in 1788 Loeben served as regimental commander of the Berlin District Regiment supplied.

Loeben was taken prisoner in the battle near Maxen , but until then had participated in the campaigns of Frederick the Great since the siege near Pirna and distinguished himself several times. He took an active part in the sieges of Prague and Breslau, the battles near Prague , Roßbach and Leuthen (wounded), Hochkirch (seriously wounded), Kunersdorf and the battles near Meissen, Strehlen, Grätz and Lauban (wounded).
