Karl Muhl

Karl Ernst Georg Heinrich Ferdinand Muhl (also: Carl ) (* May 2, 1826 in Langen ; † March 1, 1897 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian lawyer and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Karl Muhl was the son of the District Court Assessor Carl Theodor Muhl (1792–1875) and his wife Elisabeth Wilhelmine Henriette, née Makehauer (1802–1873). Muhl, who was a Protestant, married Marie Christine Auguste Henriette nee Welcker (1827–1857) and her second marriage on May 2, 1864 in Friedberg Amalie nee Gilmer (1840–1900).

Muhl studied law and graduated in 1849 with a doctorate in law. jur. from. In 1854 he became a lawyer and procurator in Gießen, where he was admitted to the bar in 1880. In 1885 he became head of the inheritance tax office as a tax adviser and in 1888 a member of the administrative court as a councilor. In 1895 he was promoted to the secret government council.

From 1874 to 1884 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of the city of Giessen .
