The building school Kaunas , ( Lithuanian Kauno statybininkų rengimo centras , KSRC ; English Kaunas builders training center ) is a Lithuanian factory school with the general education and grammar school department in the second largest Lithuanian city of Kaunas , the third largest vocational school in the Kaunas district . The legal form is biudžetinė įstaiga . The educational center emerged from three former vocational schools in Soviet Lithuania . Around 1,000 students study at the center. The center is located in the Dainava district .
history
The current vocational training center was founded in 1991. Before that there were three individual vocational schools: the 36th Kaunas Vocational School ( Kauno 36-oji profesinė mokykla ), the 49th Kaunas Vocational School ( Kauno 49-oji profesinė mokykla ) and the 19th Kaunas Vocational School ( Kauno 19-oji profesinė mokykla ). In 1991, all these schools merged and a new educational organization was established by order of the Lithuanian Minister of Education. On March 16, 2002, the first Lithuanian sectoral center for practical training was established. The vocational training center for auto mechanics has been built since 2012 . In 2014 a modern gym for gymnastics was built at the KSRC.
The center aims to become a technological high school in the future .

There are a total of 190 employees in the center. 76 of them are pedagogues (previously 86): 34 general education teachers and 42 professional teachers .

Vocational training
Production workers , construction workers , carpenters , furniture manufacturers , specialists in thermal insulation of buildings, auto mechanics , plumbers , welders , IT system specialists, logisticians , freight forwarders , sellers of IT systems , small business owners , small business service providers are prepared.
Students are accepted into the grammar school department after they have completed 8 classes or after they have completed secondary school (10 classes). The university entrance qualification is acquired in two years . Then it is possible to study at the technical colleges (colleges) and at other colleges (including universities) after the Abitur .
There are currently 927 students (2014) attending the school, and there are 347 graduates annually (2011). The students are paid monthly grants of 100 Lt (30 euros ).
Adult education
In addition to general, high school and vocational training, the training center also includes adult education and retraining . In 1992 one began with the labor market training, various training programs for the unemployed. In the following 10 years after a cooperation agreement with the employment offices of the Lithuanian Labor Exchange at the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor , more than 1,500 adults were trained. While working with 11 labor offices in Kaunas Municipality and Kaunas Region (Kaunas District ), several unemployed people were trained according to formal and non-formal adult education programs.
Sectoral center for practical training
On March 16, 2002, the first Lithuanian sectoral practical training center (SPTC) in wood technology and furniture production was established under the National Practical Vocational Training Development Program (2008) based on the Sectoral Practical Training Center (2007) and the development program (2008). The main objective was to ensure that learners gain practical skills according to the needs of the job market and gain experience with the latest technology and equipment. The implementation of modular training programs, the increase in further training services, regular renewal of qualifications for trainers and education managers and the introduction of quality management systems took place . This made it possible to ensure high-quality wood training for carpenters, furniture manufacturers and other woodworkers . In the center not only students from KSRC, but also students from other Lithuanian vocational schools, even students from technical colleges and universities, participate in the relevant study programs to acquire or improve certain skills.
The project partner was Ukmergės technologijų ir verslo mokykla . Over the course of two years, the infrastructure was rebuilt and expanded as part of the European project. The workshop with more than 4000 m² was renovated. More than 100 pieces of equipment were purchased. The total cost of the project was 23 million litas (6.7 million euros ). More than 8.2 million litas (2.4 million euros) were spent on wood furniture production technology and the training workshop. The equipment was purchased for LTL 7.7 million (EUR 2.23 million). The center was funded by the European Center for the Development of Vocational Training ( Cedefop ). The analogic center was also opened in Ukmergė .

- KSRC was supplied with 12 new Italian wood processing machines . Three mechanized workshops for wood processing were set up. The school's teachers improved their professional skills in Germany and Poland , and later created and published the teaching material.
