Kemnathen is a district of the market Breitenbrunn in the Bavarian district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate .

geography

The village is located in the Upper Palatinate Jura , about 3.5 km north of the municipality, on the open ground. In the north, the district road NM 2 touches the place and crosses with the east running state road 2234 .

history

In 1740 Countess Maria Anna Katharina von Tilly had the Catholic parish church of St. Walburga from 1632 rebuilt after a fire. With the Gemeindeedikt in the early 19th century the community was Kemnathen. In 1956 the town of Rasch was reclassified from the former municipality of Buch to Kemnathen. The largest former community included Breitenegg Castle and reached as far as the mountain slopes of the historic center of Breitenbrunn. It comprised the following districts:

As part of the municipal reform , the municipality , which had previously belonged to the Parsberg district , was incorporated into the market Breitenbrunn and thus into the district of Neumarkt on January 1, 1978.
