Bottelmühle is an officially named but uninhabited part of the municipality of Markt Breitenbrunn in the district of Neumarkt in Upper Palatinate in Bavaria .

geography

The mill was near the Breitenbrunn pilgrimage church of St. Sebastian on the Bachhaupter Laber .

history

The bottel mill, which was probably built in the 13th century, was also called just Bottel or Bleichmühle (so 1836) or just Bleich ; In early times canvas was bleached here, and later grain was ground.

In the Kingdom of Bavaria (from 1806) the municipality of Buch was formed in the Upper Palatinate Regional Court of Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz (from 1921 in the Regional / District Court of Hemau ), to which, in addition to Buch, the village of Rasch and the three wastelands Froschau, St. Sebasti and the Bottelmühle counted. Last belonging to the district of Parsberg , the community was dissolved in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria on January 1, 1972 and the districts of Buch, Froschau and the area of the uninhabited Bottelmühle were incorporated into the market Breitenbrunn.

Lived in the bottel mill

  • 1836 10 inhabitants (1 house),
  • 1875 9 inhabitants (4 buildings; large livestock: 3 horses and 6 head of cattle),
  • 1900 6 residents (1 residential building),
  • 1925 7 inhabitants (1 residential building).

In 1831 the mill, equipped with an undershot water wheel , had a grinder for two grinding cycles. At the end of the 1930s, the now uninhabited and dilapidated mill collapsed, the rubble was cleared away and the mill was never rebuilt.

Church conditions

The Einöde Bottelmühle has belonged to the Catholic parish of Breitenbrunn in the diocese of Eichstätt since ancient times . In 1937 three Catholics (and no non-Catholics) lived here.
