Matzlsberg is a district of the Upper Palatinate market Breitenbrunn . It consists of five properties. Until the regional reform on January 1, 1978 it belonged to the municipality of Kemnathen .

The wasteland is about 2.5 km northeast of Breitenbrunn and can be reached via a junction from State Road 2234 .

Dairy farm

The small town became known throughout Germany through the more than twenty-part television series Stallgeschichten in Unser Land des Bayerischen Rundfunks .

Stand 2018 manages the Schmid GbR 180 hectares , has a biogas plant with 270 kW of power and has a dairy barn for 580 while the number of dairy cows , breeding with nearly 1,100 Schwarzbunte built. In addition, ten breeding bulls are kept. The other males are sold after two weeks. This makes the farm the largest dairy farm in the Upper Palatinate and the fifth largest in Bavaria. The company delivers 34,000 liters of milk to the Bechtel private dairy every two days and offers 13 full-time jobs. Milking takes place with a rotary milking parlor with 50 places and takes place three times a day. 600 calves are born every year.
