Siegertshofen is a district of the market Breitenbrunn in the district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria .

The district is located southwest of the municipality in the Upper Palatinate Jura at 484 m above sea ​​level on the Jura plateau approx. 1 km east of the valley of the Breitenbrunn Laber .

The place is mentioned in 1489 as Sigerhshoffen , as one of the courts of Sighart . He also appeared as Sichertshofen (so 1875).

In the Kingdom of Bavaria (from 1806) the municipality Erggertshofen was formed in the Upper Palatinate district / district court of Hemau , to which the villages Erggertshofen and Siegertshofen, the hamlets of Leiterzhofen , Wolfertshofen , Ödenhaid and the wasteland of Höhenberg belonged as parts of the municipality .

In 1987 the Höhenberg district had only 45 residents with 10 residential buildings.

Church conditions

Höhenberg has belonged to the Catholic parish of Breitenbrunn in the diocese of Eichstätt since ancient times . In 1937 52 Catholics (and no non-Catholics) lived here. At the end of the village on the road to Wolfertshofen there is a baroque Lady Chapel with pilasters, built around 1725; it is considered a monument.
