Kim In-kyu (* 8. August 1993 ) is a South Korean boxer in the flyweight . He is 1.72 m tall and southpaw .

successes

Kim In-kyu was South Korean youth champion in 2011 and South Korean runner-up in 2012 after losing to Shin Jong-hun in the final . In 2013 he started at the Summer Universiade in Kazan and defeated Belik Galanow and Shomart Jerschan , before losing to Hasanboy Doʻsmatov in the final and winning the silver medal. At the 2013 World Championships in Almaty , he defeated Peter Mungai and Salman Əlizadə before being eliminated in 7th place against David Jiménez .

In 2015 he won the "Golden Belt" tournament in Craiova , reached 6th place at the Chemistry Cup in Halle and the Tammer tournament in Tampere and took part in the 2015 Asian Championships in Bangkok , where he lost 2-1 to Hu Jianguan in the first fight .

At the “Strandja Memorial” tournament in Sofia in 2016 , he finished third after losing to Daniel Asenow in the semi-finals, and in the same year he took part in the Olympic qualifying tournaments in Qian'an and Baku . With three wins and two defeats, however, he could not recommend himself for the 2016 Olympic Games . In one of his fights he had defeated Hamza Touba , one of his defeats he had suffered again against David Jiménez.

By losing to Jasurbek Latipov in the final , he won the silver medal at the 2017 Asian Championships in Tashkent and thus qualified for the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg . There he defeated Azamat Isakulov, Brendan Irvine and Kavinder Singh Bisht, before losing to Jasurbek Latipov in the semifinals and eliminated with a bronze medal.

At the Asian Championships in Bangkok in 2019, he again won the silver medal.
