Kirchbuch is a district of the town of Beilngries in the Upper Bavarian district of Eichstätt .

location

The place is south of the Altmühltal and southeast of the municipality seat Beilngries on the plateau of the southern Franconian Alb in the nature park Altmühltal between the B 299 and the state road 2229 and north of the state road 2392. Local roads lead to Arnbuch , Aschbuch and Denkendorf .

history

The place could be identical to “Puch”, where the Eichstätter Bishop Gundekar consecrated a church around 1060, which in the oldest time belonged to the original parish of Kottingwörth . Kirchbuch means village in the forest with a church; Even today, the village hall is almost completely surrounded by forest. 1179 confirmed Pope Alexander III. and in 1186 once again Pope Urban III. the Eichstätter cathedral chapter property in “Bouch”; When the cathedral chapter acquired these goods and established a parish as usual is unknown. In 1301 the church patronage passed from the cathedral chapter to the bishop. The Counts of Hirschberg held "Kyrchpuech" as an episcopal fiefdom, which was awarded to the Hochstift Eichstätt in 1305 in the dispute over the Hirschberg inheritance after the Hirschberg counts died out with Count Gebhard VII. The place was under the episcopal Vogtamt Hirschberg . In addition to the domkapitelschen estates and the episcopal court, the noble lords von Laber owned the taverns from Geyern zu Stossenberg, who ceded a court to the Johanniterkommende Altmühlmünster, and the Wildensteiner fiefdoms. In 1447 the parish of Kottingwörth also owned it. In 1572 the episcopal property had grown to three farms, in 1644 to five. In the Thirty Years' War the place was partially destroyed and then rebuilt. A schoolmaster is mentioned for 1696. Kirchbuch belonged to the matrimonial Kottingwörth in the Beilngries-Hirschberg district.

In the course of secularization , the lower bishopric, to which the church book belonged, came to Grand Duke Archduke Ferdinand III in 1802 . from Tuscany and 1806 to the Kingdom of Bavaria . In 1808 the tax district Dörndorf was formed from Kirchbuch, Bitz and Dörndorf . In 1810 this community belonged to the Oberdonaukreis with the capital Eichstätt, from 1817 to the Regenkreis and the capital Regensburg. In 1818 the tax district was dissolved, Kirchbuch and Aschbuch formed the municipality of Kirchbuch, and from 1820 the municipality of Aschbuch. Between 1838 and 1879 the Beilngries district and with it Kirchbuch were part of the Middle Franconia district , and from 1880 the Upper Palatinate .

In 1958 land consolidation was carried out. With the Bavarian territorial reform , the community of Aschbuch with church book was incorporated into the city of Beilngries on January 1, 1972. In 1973 70 and 1983 72 inhabitants were counted, who were active in agriculture in six full-time and three part-time businesses.

Catholic Church of St. Blaise

The medieval previous building was replaced by a new building from 1924 to 1926, only the medieval tower with stepped gables and saddle roof and the altar arch with its Gothic vault remained, the latter in the new church as a side chapel. The figures of the late Gothic high altar have been preserved: St. Blaise, St. Nicholas and a St. Bishop (all around 1500). One bell dates from 1471. In the course of the new building, the organ built by Maximilian Bittner in 1838 , owned by the city of Ingolstadt since 2007 , was replaced by a used organ from Fürth.
