Place name interpretation

Historical place name forms are "Greinprechtsdorf", "Grempersdorf". They are interpreted as the "village of a Greimprecht / Grambert".

history

"Gramprechtstorf" is mentioned for the first time in 1316 on the occasion of a donation of a farmstead by Heinrich von Wildenstein , who was the keeper of the Duke of Bavaria-Landshut in the castle of Arnsberg , to the Benedictine monastery in Plankstetten ; Heinrich gave a courtyard to the Plankstetten monastery to endow the village chapel and for the St. Peter altar in the south tower of the monastery church. According to the Klostersalbuch of 1463, the farm was “by the lake”, that is to say by the village shell . The Eichstätter cathedral chapter has owned the village since ancient times. The Emmendorfer also had early property here ; In 1355 they sold an estate to the Eichstätter Canon Berthold von Hagel. In 1447 the bishop of Eichstätt was master of two farms in the village; He received two more from the Absbergers at Rumburg Castle in 1546 . 1644 three peasant owners are named, one of whom also managed fiefdoms of the parishes of Irfersdorf and Kirchbuch .

At the end of the 18th century, four manorial properties belonged to the Beilngries prince-bishop caste office , six belonged to the judicial office of the Eichstätter cathedral chapter, two to the Kipfenberg prince-bishop caste office , three Altmühlmünsters coming to the Johanniter and one courtyard each to the monastery judge's office in Plankstetten and (since 1786) to the court mark Schönbrunn . The latter was subject to the patrimonial jurisdiction of the Schönbrunn court lords until 1816 . The shepherd's house was communal property. High jurisdiction was exercised by the prince-bishop's superior office in Hirschberg, and village and community rule by the caste office in Beilngries. Moreover Grampersdorf belonged to the marriage prison Kottingwörth .

In the course of secularization , the lower bishopric, to which Grampersdorf with its 18 properties belonged, came to Grand Duke Archduke Ferdinand III in 1802 . from Tuscany and at the turn of the year 1805/06 to Bavaria and there to the regional court and rent office Kipfenberg and from 1817 to the regional court and rent office Beilngries. In 1808 the place was added to the Irfersdorf tax district, but separated again in 1817 and formed its own political municipality. From 1817 to 1833 Grampersdorf was Leuchtenberg , then Bavarian again. From 1838 the district court Beilngries (from 1862 district office Beilngries ) and with it Grampersdorf part of the district of Middle Franconia with the capital Ansbach. In 1880, Grampersdorf and the Beilngries district office became part of the Upper Palatinate and Regensburg administrative districts.

In 1933 the place had 137, in 1939 122 inhabitants. After the Second World War, the population temporarily rose to 175 due to refugees. In 1958 land consolidation was carried out. In 1973 there were 129 and in 1983 150 inhabitants who were active in agriculture in seven full-time and 13 part-time businesses. There has also been a metal processing company here since 1952. A large industrial area belonging to the municipality of Beilngries is located near Grampersdorf.

On July 1, 1972, the place moved from the dissolved Upper Palatinate district of Beilngries to the expanded district of Eichstätt, which was incorporated from Middle Franconia to Upper Bavaria. With the Bavarian regional reform , Grampersdorf was incorporated into Beilngries on May 1, 1978.
