history

Wolfsbuch was first mentioned in a document in 1087, when the abbess Frideruna of the Benedictine monastery in Geisenfeld exchanged property in Wolfsbuch with the Eichstätter Bishop Udalrich I for the tithe in Gaimersheim . The place name also appears as "Wolvespuch", "Wolffpuech" and "Wyestt-Buech". In 1367 the Counts of Abensberg donated a farm in Wolfsbuch to the monastery of Essing .

In 1655 six subjects appeared at Hofmark Maierhofen, which was owned by the Jesuits at the time. Schoolhouses were built in 1793, 1898 and 1962. After the school reform of 1969, the city of Beilngries converted the latter into a kindergarten in 1974 . In 1911 a water supply and in 1927 electric lights were installed. Land consolidation measures were carried out between 1959 and 1964.

On July 1, 1972, the formerly independent community of Wolfsbuch , which was part of the Riedenburg district, became a district of Beilngries as part of the regional reform .

Catholic parish church of St. Andrew

The parish church was probably built in the 15th century and dedicated to St. Consecrated to Andreas . In 1886 there was an extension to the west. It has a baroque interior and - behind the high altar in the so-called early church - partially exposed late Gothic frescoes. A ceiling painting from 1908 by the Munich painter Franz Hartmann shows the preaching church patron. The organ installed in 1910 comes from 1750 by Antonius Beyer from Munich. In 1750 the baroque reliquary monstrance with a relic of the church patron was created. The artist G. Janner from Amberg created a neo-Gothic wafer monstrance at the end of the 19th century . The parish belongs to the diocese of Regensburg . In 1791 a brotherhood of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was established ; a "Herz-Jesu-Kind" is depicted on the painting on the right side altar.
