The church district of Lower Saxony South is a church district of the Independent Evangelical Lutheran Church (SELK) and a corporation under public law.

structure

The church district is headed by a superintendent as the leading clergyman , who is in charge of the church district advisory board. Other organs are the church district synod, which meets annually. Synodale provides a parish with a lay representative and the parish priest. In addition to the synod, the district pastors' convention, to which all pastors in active service belong with a seat and vote, is the organ of the church district. The Lower Saxony South church district extends over numerous counties in Lower Saxony. This church district belongs to the North Electoral Region of the SELK.

This parish belongs neither to the parish of Lower Saxony South nor to the SELK . It is a free Evangelical-Lutheran congregation, which, however, usually draws its pastors from the SELK teaching level (ministry). The pastor of this parish is a guest member of the parish convention of the church district. The superintendent of the parish of Lower Saxony South exercises the supervision ( visitation ). There are contractual regulations on this.

The current superintendent of the church district Lower Saxony-Süd of the SELK is superintendent Bernd Reitmayer. The superintendent is in Rabber (Bad Essen).
