occupation

Kiss and Run is a German , multiple award-winning dramedy ( drama and comedy film ) by director Annette Ernst from 2002.

In the main role , Maggie Peren , who also wrote the screenplay , embodies the actress Emma, who does not get a role and instead earns a living in a video store .

action

Emma is not blessed as an actress of luck: at auditions she receives only refusals. In order to secure her basic income, she works in a video store. She welcomes Max (played by Ken Duken ) as an almost daily regular customer , who stays there again and again. He makes a living as a drug tester and admits to Emma and other clients that he prefers porn to any other movie; in this way he has already pissed off a few customers from the video store.

Max and Emma have known each other since childhood, but they are not in a relationship. While Emma has not heard or seen anything from her lover Dominik for several hours, Max carefully avoids any emotion towards Emma. The viewer learns more casually that Max's best friend Christo is about to marry his fiancée Malia, but the two have problems: the sex just doesn't want to happen in their relationship anymore. It seems to be exactly the same for the two teenagers Banu and Leo: It just doesn't work out with sex, or if it does, then at most with yourself.

Shortly before Emma's 25th birthday, Emma learns from posters that the video store she works for has been sold. A tanning studio is to be built on the premises. When she gets stuck in an elevator with Max , she suddenly feels old and decides to change her life. She also realizes that she actually loves Max very much, beyond the normal range. She has developed feelings for him, which she can no longer deny to herself. She is now so aware of this that when her beloved Dominik calls, she ends the phone call with the words "no time".

At the end of the film, Max and Emma enter into a love affair.
