Knut Hoffmeister
Knut Hoffmeister (born February 28, 1956 in Peine ) is a German experimental filmmaker and web developer.
Life
In 1976 Hoffmeister graduated from the Walther Rathenau School in Berlin-Grunewald . After his application to the dffb was rejected, he worked as a taxi driver from 1977 to 1980. From 1977 to 1979 he was Martin Kippenberger's assistant in "Kippenberger's office" on Oranienplatz in Kreuzberg, where he worked for him at VERY GUT | VERY GOOD and the "New York Narrative Film Festival at SO36 in Kreuzberg helped. On a long trip to the USA in 1978 the first photos were taken, which he then presented on a first slide show with Kippenberger, Rainer Fetting and Helmut Middendorf in SO36 . 1979 Hoffmeister's first Super -8 -Film Berlin / Alamo , shot by Hoffmeister from his taxi. Kippenberger can also be seen as a bartender.
Hoffmeister soon belonged to the emerging Berlin underground scene with artists such as Christoph Doering, Yana Yo, Jürgen Baldiga and padeluun . Together with Doering, Hoffmeister ran the av- geschoss gallery on Crellestrasse. He shot horny animals in the jungle in 1980 in the Dschungel disco in Charlottenburg . His short film Germany! In 1982 the first Super8 film was shown at the Oberhausen Short Film Festival .
Also in 1982 Hoffmeister founded the band Notorische Reflexe with Tom Averbeck, Ralf Buron, Christoph Doering, Günter Friedenberg (Gasi Twist), Sascha von Oertzen, Yana Yo, and others . The group, which existed until 1986, experimented with musical and multimedia performances. In November 1982 the Notorische Reflexe appeared at the first Berlin Atonal Festival organized by Dimitri Hegemann , at which other bands from the West Berlin scene (such as the Einstürzende Neubauten , Die Tödliche Doris , Die Haut und Malaria! ) Could be seen. The band was also represented at the 1983 live recording of the Berlin Atonal festival . In the same year her single was released, and the video clip Brezhnev Rap , produced by Hoffmeister on Super8 , in 1986 the only album Notorische Reflexe . With (on the album included) Title Metal Dance II , the band had a gig in 1985 doctors -Spielfilm Richy Guitar . An experimental video of the band ( Fragment / Video / 82/83 ) ran u. a. 1984 in the forum of the Berlinale .
In 1984 Hoffmeister shot the short film Venise in Venice with Luciano Castelli as producer and actor. In 1984/85 , Hoffmeister's first feature film, Der Goldene Oktober, was made in the ZDF series Das kleine Fernsehspiel . Actors included Trini Trimpop (from Die Toten Hosen ), Blixa Bargeld (from Einstürzende Neubauten ), FJ Krüger (from Ideal ), Zazie de Paris and the real Heino . In 1986 other short films were made in legendary West Berlin bars and discos such as Café Mitropa and the jungle .
In 1990/91 the Madhouse television documentaries (with Jingo de Lunch , EastBam , Rausch and Zazie de Paris) were created for 3sat and ZDF. He was also making documentaries in Thailand , Vietnam and Brazil at the time . The short film Berlin - Some Days In July about the wrapping of the Reichstag by Christo and Jeanne-Claude was shown in the panorama program of the Berlinale 1996 .
Since 1998 Hoffmeister has worked primarily as a web developer and operates platforms such as the Global Hangover Guide and SEHRGUT . Hoffmeister has been publishing his films on the YouTube channel notref since 2007 .
From 2009 to 2014 Hoffmeister also worked as an online moderator for the Bangkok Post in Thailand.
