Kortessem ( Limburgish : Kotsoeve) is a municipality in the Belgian province of Limburg near Hasselt . Since the territorial reform (January 1, 1977), the municipality has consisted of six districts Kortessem, Wintershoven, Guigoven, Vliermaal, Vliermaalroot and Zammelen. The community has 8,442 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019).

Attractions

  • The largest sequoia tree in Belgian Limburg grows in the castle park next to the Mozaïek cultural center .
