Kinrooi ( Limburgish : children ) is a Belgian municipality in the Flanders region with 12,174 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). It is located in the extreme northeast of the country on the left bank of the Meuse and borders directly on the Netherlands . The municipality consists of the main town and the districts Kessenich , Molenbeersel and Ophoven (Belgium) .
Geographical location
Maaseik is five kilometers south, the Dutch cities Maastricht 30 kilometers south, Eindhoven 36 kilometers north, Venlo about 30 kilometers northeast and the Belgian capital Brussels about 100 kilometers southwest.
