Kōya Kitagawa ( Japanese 北 川 航 也 , Kitagawa Kōya ; born July 26, 1996 in Shizuoka ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

society

Kitagawa played for the Shimizu S-Pulse since 2012 and has been part of the professional squad since 2015. He made his J1 League debut in July 2015 against Shonan Bellmare . In November 2015 he scored his first goal in the top Japanese division in a 2-2 draw against Ventforet Kofu , from which Shimizu had to relegate in 2015. In the 2016 season he played 30 games in the J2 League , in which he scored nine goals. At the end of the season he rose again with his club in the J1 League.

In the 2017 season he came to 26 appearances in which he scored five goals. In the 2018 season he scored 13 goals in 32 league games. In July 2019 he moved to Austria to SK Rapid Vienna , where he received a contract that ran until June 2023.

National team

On October 12, 2018, Kitagawa made his debut for the Japanese national soccer team in a friendly against Panama . He was appointed to the 2019 Asian Cup squad.
