Lion Schuster (born August 9, 2000 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Schuster started his career at SKV Altenmarkt . For the 2010/11 season he joined the youth team of Baden AC . For the 2012/13 season he moved to SK Rapid Vienna , where he would later play in the academy.

In May 2018 he made his debut for the Rapid Amateurs in the Regionalliga when he was in the starting line-up against SKU Amstetten on matchday 34 of the 2017/18 season. He scored his first goal in the Regionalliga in November 2018 in a 4-2 win against the Wiener Sport-Club . In the 2018/19 season he made 25 regional league appearances, in which he scored two goals.

In September 2019 he made his debut for the professionals in the ÖFB Cup when he was substituted on for Taxiarchis Foundas in the 67th minute of the second round match against FC Red Bull Salzburg . He finally made his Bundesliga debut in December 2019 when he came on as a substitute for Dejan Ljubicic in the 80th minute against LASK on matchday 16 of the 2019/20 season .

National team

Schuster played for an Austrian national youth team for the first time in April 2016. In August 2016 he made his debut against Croatia for the U-17 team . For this he came to 10 missions until March 2017. In September 2017, he first appeared against Finland for the U-18 team.

In August 2018 he made his debut against Cyprus for the U-19 team .
