Mateo Barać (born July 20, 1994 in Sinj ) is a Croatian football player .

Career

society

Barać started his career at NK Junak Sinj . Between 2012 and 2013 he played for Hajduk Split before returning to Junak Sinj. For the 2014/15 season he moved to the Swiss second division club FC Wohlen . However, after he had not received a work permit, he left Switzerland again in August 2014.

He then returned to Croatia, where he joined the second division club NK Hrvatski dragovoljac . After three games for the club, he moved to third division HNK Šibenik during the winter break of the 2014/15 season . With Šibenik he was promoted to the 2nd HNL at the end of the season .

For the 2016/17 season Barać moved to the first division club NK Osijek . He made his debut in the 1st HNL in July 2016 when he was in the starting XI on the first day of that season against NK Istra 1961 . He scored his first goal in Croatia's top division in April 2017 in a 2-1 loss to Dinamo Zagreb . At the end of the season he had 24 appearances in the 1st HNL, in which he was able to score a goal. In the following season he was used in 26 league games.

In July 2018 he moved to Austria to SK Rapid Vienna , where he received a contract that ran until June 2021.

National team

Barać made his debut for the Croatian senior team in January 2017 when he started a friendly against Chile .
