history

Kranepuhl was first mentioned indirectly in 1237 by a helm vicus de Cranepule. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1304 as Cranepule . The place name is derived from the Low German word Kranepul , which means settlement at the Kranichpfuhl . The village initially belonged to the Belzig office and from 1552 to the Belzig-Rabenstein office . In 1591 Kranepuhl had 52 hooves .

During the Thirty Years War , Kranepuhl fell desolate . In 1777 there were ten Hüfner and one Kossaten in the village , with one person owning around 10 hectares of land.

The construction of the village church in Kranepuhl probably began at the beginning of the 13th century. In 1588 the church received a new bell. Between 1720 and 1959 the church was extensively renovated several times. In 1993/1994 the church tower had to be demolished because of the risk of collapse. The tower was restored by 1995.

Kranepuhl has always belonged to the Kingdom of Prussia and was located there in the administrative district of Potsdam . On July 25, 1952, the community was assigned to the then newly formed Belzig district in the Potsdam district . After the fall of the Wall , Kranepuhl was in the Belzig district in Brandenburg and joined the Niemegk office on February 11, 1992 . After the district reform in Brandenburg on December 6, 1993 , the municipality of Kranepuhl finally came to the newly formed district of Potsdam-Mittelmark . On June 1, 2002, Kranepuhl was merged with the previously independent municipalities of Dahnsdorf , Mörz and Locktow to form the new municipality of Planetal .
