S. Crown Weather

In 1886 the Town of Kronenwetter was formed. The name goes back to the German immigrant Sebastian Kronenwetter (1833-1902), a sawmill owner and member of the Wisconsin State Assembly .

In 2002, in view of the steadily growing municipalities in the surrounding area, the citizens decided to found their own municipality. A year later, the remaining areas of the town were incorporated into the community and the town was dissolved as an administrative unit of Marathon County.
