Rib Mountain is located in central Wisconsin, on Rib Mountain at the confluence of the Big Rib River with the Wisconsin River , a left tributary of the Mississippi .

The geographical coordinates of Rib Mountain are 44 ° 54'46 "north latitude and 89 ° 40'31" west longitude. The place extends over an area of ​​33.8 km², which is spread over 31.4 km² of land and 2.4 km² of water. The place forms the center of the Town of Rib Mountain .

On the southeastern outskirts of the town, the four-lane Wisconsin State Highway 29 joins the four -lane US Highway 51 , which runs north-south through Rib Mountain. All other roads are subordinate country roads, some unpaved roads and inner-city connecting roads.
