Kurt Krüger (born October 4, 1920 in Lintorf ; † January 19, 2003 ), also called "Kutti", was a German football player .

Emerging from the Alemannia 08 Düsseldorf team , Krüger came to Fortuna Düsseldorf for the 1939/40 season . In his first season at the Flinger Broich , he immediately won the championship in the Gauliga Niederrhein . In the final round of the German championship in 1940 he was the middle runner together with his teammates Willi Abromeit , Paul Janes , Felix Zwolanowski and Stanislaus Kobierski, the defensive strategist in the group matches against CSC 03 Kassel , theMülheimer SV 06 and FC Schalke 04 in action. Fortuna Düsseldorf played with him twice against the eventual German champions FC Schalke 04. In Tschammerpokal contest in 1940 he moved with Fortuna Dusseldorf after successes on the 1. FC Kaiserslautern , VfR Mannheim , Eintracht Frankfurt and Vienna SK in the against 1. FC Nürnberg with 0: 1 lost semi-final one. Due to the circumstances of the Second World War , he came to Kiel as a marine and played for Holstein Kiel . From December 1948 to January 1952 he played again for Fortuna Dusseldorf, for which he played 53 point games in the Oberliga West . After a double fracture of the shin, which he sustained in the game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on January 6, 1952 , his active football career ended abruptly.

National team

He played his only international match for the senior national team at the age of 19 on July 14, 1940 in Frankfurt am Main against the national team of Romania . Under captain Paul Janes, his club teammate, he made his debut alongside world-class outside runners Andreas Kupfer and Albin Kitzinger . In the 9: 3 success, Fritz Walter was another debutant. Due to the war, it was his only appearance as a national player .

Others

The trained lathe operator later found his professional livelihood in the administration of the Düsseldorf Rheinbahn and also worked as an amateur trainer (including TSV Eller 04 ).
