The Landesliga Hessen 1947/48 was the third season of the top Hessian amateur class after the Second World War . The season was the start of the Hessenliga as a whole Hessen league within a single season (as it exists to this day), after it was divided into five seasons in the preseason. In addition, a Hessian champion was played for the first time. The league was located one level below the Oberliga Süd and thus formed the second highest level of the league system. All 14 clubs were also part of the national league in the preseason.

Hessian amateur champion in 1948 was the 1st Rödelheimer FC , which also made it to the Oberliga Süd by a second place in the subsequent promotion round. With VfB Friedberg , FV 1910 Horas , Eintracht Wetzlar and TuS Löhnberg , four clubs were relegated at the end of the season.
