Lawrence Timmons Olajuwon (* 14. May 1986 in Florence , South Carolina ) is an American American football poker players in the National Football League (NFL). He last played for the Miami Dolphins as a linebacker . With the Pittsburgh Steelers he won the Super Bowl XLIII .
college
Timmons attended Florida State University and successfully played college football for their team, the Seminoles . He was used in the special teams , as a linebacker and occasionally also as a defensive end .
NFL
He was selected in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft as the 15th player by the Pittsburgh Steelers . Already in his rookie season he played in all 16 games.
In the 2008 season he won the Super Bowl XLIII with the Steelers .
Since 2010 he has been able to set over or close to 100 tackles every season . Since 2011, when he a six-year contract for 50 million US dollars received, he was in every game of the Steelers as a starter in use.
In 2012 he was able to achieve his first and so far only touchdown against the Cleveland Browns and in 2014 he was appointed to the Pro Bowl for the first time .
For the 2017 season he moved to the Miami Dolphins . In 14 games he managed 84 tackles and three pass defenses, but he was released after just one season.
