Career

society

Terp played during her career for the Danish clubs Kolding BK , Vejle BK and Odense BK in the 3F Ligaen and for Fulham in the "Southern Division" of the second division of the English FA Women's Premier League . At the end of the season, Fulham was in first place and rose to the National Division, which they then won the following season. Then she returned to Odense. In total, she played 126 league games in Denmark.

National team

In 1989 she played four games with the Danish U-17 team and between 1991 and 1993 17 games for the U-21 team, won the Nordic Cup in 1992, finished second in 1991 and third in 1993. During this time she made her first international match at the Open Nordic Cup in Cyprus on March 9, 1993 in a 3: 3 against Norway when she was substituted on for the second half. She then played the other two games at the tournament, where she was in the starting line-up and played through, but she was not used in the immediately following European Championship . In the following European Championship qualifier against Lithuania , which was their first international match for the Lithuanians and in which the Danes achieved their first double-digit victory, she was substituted on in the second half when the score was 3-0. She could then not participate in the scoring that led to the 11-0. After that she had to wait thirteen months for her next international match and did not take part in the first Algarve Cup in 1994 . From September 1994 she was a regular player, reached the final of the second Algarve Cup in 1995 (3-2 defeat after extra time against Sweden) and was also part of the Danish squad that took part in the 1995 World Cup. She played the full distance in the three group matches and the quarter-finals, but was eliminated in the quarter-finals against eventual world champions Norway. By reaching the quarter-finals, however, the Danes had qualified for the first women's Olympic soccer tournament at the Olympic Games in Atlanta , in which they also took part. She was used again over the full distance in the three group matches, but this time dropped out after the group stage. After that, the Danes were never able to qualify for the Olympic Games again (as of 2016). Her next major tournament was the European Championship in 1997 , where she scored the 1-0 lead in the second group match against Italy with her first international goal (final score 2-2). As the bottom of the group, the Danes were eliminated in the preliminary round.

From 1998 she was captain of the national team and in 1998 she reached the final of the Algarve Cup for the second time with Denmark , but lost it 1: 4 against Norway . In February 1999 she played on the occasion of the group draw for the 1999 World Cup with a FIFA World Cup against the United States women's national soccer team . The game is not counted as an official international match. At the World Cup in the USA , she played the three group games, but retired with her team after the preliminary round. The Danes also missed the 2000 Olympic football tournament in Sydney . In 2001 she reached the final of the Algarve Cup again , but lost it 3-0 against Sweden . In the same year she reached the semi-finals at the European Championships in Germany , but also failed there because of Sweden.

On March 7, 2002, she replaced Gitte Krogh as the record Danish national player in the match for fifth place at the 2002 Algarve Cup with her 91st international match . A year later, she made her 100th international match in the first group game of the 2003 Algarve Cup against France as the first Danish woman . After the Algarve Cup she played in two friendly matches against Germany in May 2003 and played her 105th and last international match on May 25, 2003. She remained a record national player until June 5, 2005 and was then replaced by the now no longer active Katrine Pedersen , who doubled the record in the following eight years.
