Lepo is an East Timorese Suco in the administrative office of Zumalai ( municipality of Cova Lima ).

Before the 2015 regional reform, Lepo had an area of ​​5.15 km². Now there are 12.16 km². The Suco is located in the north of the Zumalai administrative office. To the north, across the Fatoro River , lies the Suco Mape , to the east of Fatuleto , to the south of Tashilin and to the west of Zulo ( Bunak for " civet cat "). The place Zulo is located in the east of the Sucos Lepo, distributed over both sucos by the border with Fatuleto, the place Zulo Tas ( Zulo Tas , Zulotos ) is located. The overland road that leads from Zumalai to Bobonaro and Atsabe runs through both places . There is a primary school in Suco, the Escola Primaria Lepo .

In the Suco there are the five Aldeias Aisal Leuc , Baulolo , Biatuma , Horba and Lepo Canua . The Aldeia Zulo Tas is located in the Suco Zulo.

The Suco has tourist potential. Lepo has a hot, thermal source.

Residents

1302 inhabitants (2015) live in Suco, 660 of them are men and 642 women. The population density is 107.1 inhabitants / km². There are 179 households in the Suco. About 65% of the population name Bunak as their mother tongue. Almost 34% speak Kemak , a small minority Tetum Prasa .

history

In 2010, the remains of a dead man were found in Suco and brought into connection with criminals disguised as ninja who allegedly terrorized the population in the region. The East Timorese National Police then sent a special unit to restore order and peace. The deceased is said to have been the victim of a mentally ill ten years ago who was arrested by the police. But it was precisely the bones that were presented as evidence of the brutality of the "ninjas" in television reports on the police action.

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Felisberto was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections won Aniceto Ferreira .
