The Higashihirao Park Hakata-no-Mori-Ball sports stadium ( Japanese 東平尾公園博多の森球技場 Higashihirao-kōen Hakata no mori kyūgijō , English Hakata no mori Stadium ) is a rugby - and football stadium in the Japanese city of Fukuoka in the same prefecture . According to contracts with the game developer Level-5 , it has been called the Level-5 Stadium since 2008 ( レ ベ ル フ ァ イ ブ ス タ ジ ア ム , reberu faibu sutajiamu , レ ベkurz タ for short , Rebesuta ). The facility, which opened on July 13, 1995, has a capacity of 22,563 spectators, 16,167 of them in roofed-over places. It is the home ground of Kyūshū Denryoku , Kyūden Voltex and the Coca-Cola West Red Sparks from the Top League , from Avispa Fukuoka from the J. League and the Fukuoka J Anclas from the Nihon Joshi Soccer League ("L. League").
history
Hataka-no-Mori Stadium opened in 1995 for the Fukuoka Summer Universiade . The owner is the city of Fukuoka, operator of an independent non-profit foundation ( kōeki-zaidan-hōjin ), the Fukuoka-shi midori no machizukuri kyōkai ( 福岡 市 緑 の ま ち づ く り 協会 German 'Society for Green Urban Renewal of the City of Fukuoka' , English Fukuoka Town Planning Association ), which is responsible for green spaces and sports facilities across the city. The football team of the security company Chūō Bōhan moved as a JFL team from Fujieda to Fukuoka and was now called Fukuoka Brooks. In 2003, the establishment of the Top League brought regular league games for the Fukuoka-based teams from Kyūshū Denryoku and Coca-Cola to the stadium. In 2009 it was the venue for the new IRB U20 Junior World Championship. In 2019 it will be used for the rugby world championship .
The ten billion JPY (approx. € 75.3 million ) sports facility is located in the Higashihirao district in the Hakata district to the east of Fukuoka Airport . Next door, in Higashihirao Park (nicknamed Hakata no Mori , meaning “Hakata Forest”), there is a baseball and tennis facility , an athletics stadium with an outdoor court and the “Accion Fukuoka” ( ア ク シ オ ン 福岡 Akushion Fukuoka ), which consists of a hall and a swimming stadium .
