Lhari ( Tibetan : ལྷ་ རི་ རྫོང་ , transcription after Wylie : lha ri rdzong , also Lhari Dzong ) is a district in the administrative district of Nagqu in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . It has an area of ​​13,338 square kilometers and according to the census of 1990 19,719 inhabitants, of which 19,650 Tibetans and 68 Han Chinese (2000 census: 24,953 inhabitants).

The 11th Penchen Lama Gyeltshen Norbu , recognized by the Chinese government, comes from Lhari.
