history

A first documentary mention of the place can be traced back to 1350. Lichtenau belonged to the Wiesenburg office for a long time (until 1843). After a brief membership in the Kirchberg district, the mainly agricultural town came to the Zwickau district administration from 1873 and later to the renamed Zwickau district . From 1953 Lichtenau was administratively subordinate to the Aue district and was incorporated into Stützengrün in 1996. It is ecclesiastical to this day in the Evangelical Lutheran. Parish church in Bärenwalde , which belongs to the church district of Zwickau and not to Aue.

The Streudorf was incorporated into Stützengrün on January 1, 1996 as part of the municipal reform.
