Lilium pumilum (Syn. Lilium potaninii ) is a species from the genus of lilies ( Lilium ) in the Asian section .

description

Lilium pumilum reaches a height of 15 to 60 cm. The onions are round to conical and reach a diameter of 2 to 3 cm, they are covered with white scales. The stem is papilose and sometimes purple. The leaves are linear, from 3.5 to 9 cm long and from 1.5 to 3 cm wide. They are distributed over the stem, but cluster in the middle of the plant. The median nerve is emphasized on the underside of the leaf, the leaf margin papilous.

Lilium pumilum blooms from June to August with a single fresh orange-like scented flower or several (in culture up to 20) a panicle nodding flowers with a glossy texture. The hermaphrodite flowers are threefold. The six identical bloom cladding sheets ( tepals ) are strongly bent back ( Turkish covenant shape ) and 4 to 8 cm long. The basic color of the flowers is light red with no or only a few points at the base of the flower. Each flower contains three carpels and six stamens. The anthers are yellow, the pollen vermilion and the 12 to 25 mm long filaments are reddish white. The nectaries are papillary on both sides. The seeds ripen in elongated seed capsules up to 1.8 cm long from September to October and germinate immediately - epigeously .

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.

Lilium pumilum is found on the edges of forests or hillside meadows at altitudes between 400 and 2600 m above sea level.

It is native to the Chinese provinces of Gansu , Hebei , Heilongjiang , Henan , Jilin , Liaoning , the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region , Ningxia , Qinghai , Shaanxi , Shandong and Shanxi , but can also be found in Korea , Mongolia and in central and eastern Siberia .
