Lino Patruno

Michele "Lino" Patruno (born October 27, 1935 in Crotone ) is an Italian jazz musician (guitar), actor and film composer .

Live and act

Patruno had been active in Milan since the mid-1950s, where he initially belonged to the Riverside Jazz Band and became a member of the Milan College Jazz Society in the 1970s . Together with Nanni Svampa , Roberto Brivio and Gianni Magni, he founded the cabaret group I Gufi in 1964 , with which he appeared on the Italian stages until 1969 and in the film Idoli controluce by Enzo Battaglia (1965). Then he returned to jazz and accompanied Albert Nicholas , Joe Venuti and Bill Coleman .

He moved to Rome where he established the Lino Patruno Jazz Show . He has appeared at numerous European jazz festivals, including all-star casts, including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in 2011 . He also played with Wingy Manone , Bud Freeman , Teddy Wilson , Peanuts Hucko , Bob Haggart , Dick Cary , Jimmy McPartland , Eddie Miller , Yank Lawson , Billy Butterfield , Bob Wilber , Spiegle Willcox , Dick Wellstood , Tony Scott , Bucky Pizzarelli , Wild Bill Davison , Kenny Davern , Barney Bigard and Pee Wee Erwin .

As an actor he was in several films, such as B. Penalties for the Superbull (1980), Prova di memoria (1992) and Il burattinaio (1994) involved. In Fellini's Amarcord (1973) he was seen with his Blue Six . Since 1997 he has also written the music for feature films such as Ti amo Maria by Carlo Delle Piane . He appeared in Franco Nero's drama Forever Blues (2006); he also wrote the music for the film. He created new music for 60 short films by Charlie Chaplin on behalf of Radiotelevisione Italiana .
