The list of architectural monuments in Sonnewalde lists all the architectural monuments of the Brandenburg community of Sonnewalde and its districts. Watermill | Building history: The Pießig watermill was built between 1820 and 1823 and was used for grinding and sawing purposes. The mill is on the left, the apartment still inhabited today on the right. The sawmill was added around 1840; today the mill building has two floors. The operation was stopped in 1958, in 1985 the water rights of the mill and the right to use the pond were given up. A restoration took place in 2005. Technical data: The undershot water wheel has a diameter of approx. 5.00 m and a width of approx. 1.50 m. The saw frame is a horizontal frame saw with a saw blade. The grinding gear and the sawmill were driven by a water wheel, so that parallel operation was not possible. The technical equipment is complete and unchanged and basically functional. |
