This picture on Meißner ceramic slabs adorned the former building of the auditorium of the 11th Polytechnic High School . Since this and another directly adjacent POS were completely demolished at the beginning of 2012, the future of the listed property was open, also with regard to the size of 6 × 12 meters. The city council decided against the variant of a support structure and in favor of the demolition. The picture was sawn into pieces and stored. Although the reconstruction will only take place in a few years, the sawed-up concrete slabs are currently being improperly stored outdoors in a deplorable condition. The group of three figures was erected in front of the main entrance as part of the new building for the engineering school for glass technology. It was made by the craftsman company Heinrich Moldenhauer from Potsdam.

This work was commissioned by the district of Weißwasser with the previous title “Stele Energy and Society” with motifs from the energy industry and working people. It should clarify the origin and use of energy as well as its importance for the development of society. Amazingly, one of the motifs also includes the symbol of the peace movement. The relief was cast from aluminum and steel. Due to heavy rust , it had to be renovated in 2004. In cooperation with the training workshop of the Boxberg power plant , it was the first of the monuments in Weißwasser to be renovated. After the monument had been located at the intersection of Bautzener Straße / Schweigstraße for more than 25 years , it was moved to its current location on Am Fuchsbau in 2013 as part of the new construction of the ice arena and the redesign of its surroundings . Memorial path

The memorial trail for the victims of war and violence is located in the city's cemetery . The inauguration of the memorial path took place on December 4, 2010. It includes the cemetery of German soldiers who fell from World War I, the burial ground of German soldiers who fell from WWII , the grove of honor for the victims of fascism, the Soviet memorial and the Jewish cemetery. The Jewish cemetery was leveled in 1982 and the area redesigned. On September 1, 2010 he was appointed by the state rabbi Dr. Almekias Siegl consecrated again.
