Created from 1768 according to the plans of the English garden architect Lancelot Capability Brown. One of the earliest landscape gardens in Northern Germany. From 1830 the park was extended by Duke Wilhelm according to plans by Burmester, but this part has not been preserved. In the 20th century the park was enlarged and the Spielmannsteich was created.
