The construction status found today suggests a high quality work. The capacity was approx. 300 cubic meters of water, which was used to supply the then still independent municipality of Oberplanitz. Due to its exposed location, there was a lookout point on the upper platform, which was also used until the 1930s. The tower tower was open for this purpose. Base 399 m and top 422 m above sea level.

Note: Due to the poor state of preservation, extensive renovation measures had to be carried out, which led to the replacement of large parts of the original building stock. These measures were carried out with permission under monument protection law based directly on the original, since the construction of the new buildings around the water tower, the unique and landscape-defining location has been lost.
