Location of the Preißelpöhl district in Plauen

The list of cultural monuments in Preißelpöhl contains the cultural monuments of the Plauen district of Preißelpöhl that were recorded by the State Office for Monument Preservation of Saxony until January 2020 (excluding archaeological cultural monuments). The notes are to be observed.

1879 Forest park-like facility with irregular routing, of importance in terms of urban development and gardening. The park was laid out on a 415 m high diabase ridge, which rises about 35 m above the plateau. Sloping steeply to the Elsteraue in the southeast. In 1879 the city administration acquired the Preißelpöhl property and had the 8 hectare area planted with 1220 oaks, 628 maples, 960 birches, 135 ash trees, 4200 spruces and 400 pines. More trees followed in 1897/98. Thorough care measures for the oak stock at the turn of the 20th century and in the 1930s. Therefore, especially in the south-east, a sparse stock of trees with approx. 100 year old trees developed. A near-natural oak and linden forest developed elsewhere. A row of Zerr oaks (Quercus cerris) stands parallel to the Am Preißelpöhl street. In 1984 there was a tree population of 1402 deciduous trees in 30 species and 46 conifers in three families. The park is more reminiscent of a forest than a park. There are missing z. B. largely groups of bushes, flower beds, resting places, cabaret and horticulture. 09301718

1910 Plastered construction influenced by the reform style and of architectural value. Elegant two-storey plastered building with a storey-high loft extension on the front, the horizontal line emphasized by a strong cornice and similar eaves cornice. The entrance zone is added to the side and is cubic, above it a specially shaped roof extension with a gable function that differs from the rest of the building. The multi-leaf windows with grooved skylights are almost square, flat pilaster strips are responsible for the vertical, the overall impression is balanced. The rear extension has the same design, but with a flat finish. The facade design is based on the residential building, but the building is a manufacturing and commercial building. Built as a commercial building for the builders Knubbe and Reinhardt in 1910 (designed by Fritz Kohl, executed by Max Schuller and Richard Noack), owned by Leonhardt Tietz AG from the mid-1920s, conversions in 1935 by Westdeutsche Kaufhof AG, used as a warehouse or workshop or smaller manufacturing facilities can be assumed. Used by the Hentschel men's underwear factory from 1936. After 1945, the office building was taken over by VEB Damenkonfektion, Werk III and used as a factory building, after 1990 it was vacant and in ruins, and in 2007 it was extensively renovated and converted into a residential building.   1. Villa-like house with garden, Am Preißelpöhl 32 :
    Two-storey with a protruding half-hipped roof and a polygonal protruding staircase, with an entrance with an original door leaf. Basement window Segmented arched window openings with original grating, clinker compensating arches with keystones above all window openings. Ground floor high rectangular windows with horizontal roofing. Upper floor segmented arched windows with slightly curved roofing, single granite staircase with original banister, staircase window openings above the front door with lead glass windows with depictions of flowers, the facade with balconies on curved supports, bay windows, ornamental frameworks and facade projections, the roof with ornate purlin heads and rafters, original dormer windows . Inside, rich furnishings from the period of construction (decisive for monument value), on the ground floor original room doors with Art Nouveau decoration, partly sliding doors, stucco ceilings, shutters, box windows from the period of construction, parquet floors. Representative middle room (possibly dining room or living room) with exit to the terrace, patio door with leaded glass windows, also these with flower ornaments. On the upper floor also good stock, originally preserved apartment and room doors, stucco ceilings with Art Nouveau ornamentation, the room layout on the upper floor is similar to that of the ground floor, in the hallway of the upper floor kitchen elevator, presumably functional. In the attic the lower level has been expanded with a girls' room, the upper level is an attic. Garden in the typical design of the time, trees and also some paths preserved, garden area slightly redesigned by using kindergarten and the resulting adaptation.
