1902 The Kemmler Tower was built in 1902 as a Bismarck column based on a design ( Götterdämmerung ) by Wilhelm Kreis . In the interior there is a 65-step stone staircase and then a 13-step iron staircase, which was manufactured in the Queen Marienhütte and executed by master locksmith Schimmel. The total height of the tower is 18.25 meters. As a testimony to the preservation of nature and the local history as well as the history of tourism, the tower is a listed building due to its architectural and regional historical significance.

The tower was built at the suggestion of the local group of the Pan-German Association . In April 1899, the German student body selected the “Götterdämmerung” design by the architect Wilhelm Kreis, which was awarded the 1st prize, for implementation. The building material for the exterior masonry was granite, which was quarried in the CF Lenk quarries in Schreiersgrün near Treuen. The interior masonry consists of fruit slate from Theuma and Tippersdorf. Partial reuse of the building material from the old Kemmlerturm. The inauguration of the Bismarck Tower was on August 31, 1902. The rock, earth and masonry work cost 12,500 marks, the granite delivery 14,650 marks. The inscription on the wall at the tower entrance formerly read: "This / Vogtland Bismarckian column / was erected / 1902 / by grateful Vogtlanders / in place of the former Kemmlerturm. / The latter was / de ...".
