List of cultural assets in Wettingen

The list of cultural assets in Wettingen contains all objects in the municipality of Wettingen in the canton of Aargau that are subject to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict , the Federal Act of June 20, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflicts and the Ordinance of June 29 , 2014 October 2014 on the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict .

Objects in categories A and B are completely included in the list, objects in category C are currently missing (as of January 1, 2018). Other protected objects can be found under other monuments , which are recorded in the building and usage regulations of the municipality and are not already included in the list of cultural assets.

		Covered wooden bridge over the Limmat KGS no .: 279	B.	G	At customs house 666 333  /  256438	Two-part wooden bridge, supported by a stone pillar standing in the Limmat. Composed of a covered part with a boarded hanging structure and a smaller iron truss. Replacement for the previous building originally built by Hans Ulrich Grubenmann in the 1760s, built by Blasius Balteschwiler in 1819 . The truss part has existed since 1924.
		Catholic Church St. Sebastian KGS-No .: 280	B.	G	Dorfstrasse 53 667219  /  257823	The church building, built between 1893 and 1895 according to plans by Karl Moser , replaced a previous building mentioned for the first time in 1259. Three-aisled pillar basilica made of bossed ashlars. In the anteroom there is a Roman inscription panel from the Isis temple by Aquae Helveticae , previously walled into the church tower.
		Slaughterhouse Baden KGS-No .: 9903	B.	G	Schwimmbadstrasse 33 665 788  /  257114	Former slaughterhouse of the city of Baden , built in 1931 and in operation until 1988.
		Gasthaus zum Sternen KGS-Nr .: 15875	B.	G	Klosterstrasse 9 666,114  /  256634	Former residential house for lay sisters and maidservants of the monastery built in 1583/84, on the site of the presumed poor hospital from the 13th century. Used as a restaurant since the monastery was closed. Stately late Gothic building with a crooked hip roof.
		Neutrotte KGS no .: 15876	B.	G	Home Talstrasse six hundred and sixty-seven thousand four hundred and sixty-two  /  257978	Late baroque-classicist wall construction built in 1783 on a T-shaped floor plan, with a large-scale façade looking down into the valley.
		Former tithe house KGS no .: 15877	B.	G	Dorfstrasse 6 667 156  /  257666	Former tithe house of the monastic Meierhöfe, built in 1670 instead of a barn that was first mentioned 250 years earlier. Numerous valley and rebate windows of different sizes structure the masonry residential wing on the front eaves side and on the free-standing front. Strong bosses on the building edges.
		Gluri-Suter-Huus KGS no .: 15878	B.	G	Bifangstrasse 1 667 247  /  257653	Mittertennhaus built in 1741, representative of a half-timbered farmhouse in the Zurich style. Today used as a gallery, kindergarten and theater hall.
		Rectory St. Sebastian with garden pavilion KGS-No .: 15879	B.	G	Dorfstrasse 53 667257  /  257798	Rectory of the Roman Catholic parish built by Blasius Balteschwiler from 1824 to 1826 . All sides symmetrically structured, white plastered wall construction with a large hipped roof.
		Kreuzkapelle KGS-No .: 15880	B.	G	Otelfingerstrasse 668 027  /  256,953	Chapel built in 1660 at the intersection of the road to Otelfingen and Würenlos . Renewed in 1826 and 1971.
		Sulzberg Chapel KGS-No .: 15881	B.	G	Sulpberg 667 995  /  257417	Chapel built around 1746 on the highest point of the Sulperg. With a semicircular connection and a roof that is extended to the west and rests on two wooden supports, it largely corresponds to the nearby Kreuzkapelle.
		Pedestrian footbridge over Kanzlerrainstrasse KGS-No .: 15882	B.	G	Chancellor Rainstrasse six hundred and sixty-six thousand two hundred twenty-one  /  256558	Basket-arched pedestrian bridge, is located northeast of an octagonal pond and spans Kanzlerrainstrasse. In 1976, the reconstruction of an aqueduct built 210 years earlier by Johannes Grubenmann to supply the monastery with water was carried out.
		Doktorhaus KGS-No .: 15883	B.	G	Chancellor Rainstrasse 15 666,318  /  256508	Former home for the monastery barber and medic. Petty-bourgeois-looking gable facade. Lower façade parts made of stone, upper parts in half-timbering . Door leaf in the arched cellar portal with rafter pattern and baroque fittings.
		Former spinning mill KGS no .: 15884	B.	G	KLOSTERSTRASSE 42 665 887  /  256416	Main building of the former textile factory Wild Cie. , in an exposed location on the monastery peninsula on the Limmatknie. Six-storey colossal building with 14 eaves-sided axes and corner blocks made of shell limestone. Leaning against the southern narrow side, a 36 m high, crenellated stair tower has stood since 1901.
		Former cotton weaving mill KGS-No .: 15885	B.	G	Klosterstrasse 40 six hundred and sixty-five thousand nine hundred twenty-seven  /  256438	Factory building of the former textile factory Wild Cie. Built in 1857/58 . , in an exposed location on the monastery peninsula on the Limmatknie. Simple building with 29 strictly symmetrical window axes, three of which were later extended. Today used as a commercial center and studio community.
		Former customs house KGS no .: 15886	B.	G	Chancellor Street Rain 14 666 286  /  256459	Customs station built in 1767 by the wooden bridge to Neuenhof, on an artificial retaining wall close to the Limmat. Trapezoidal head building with hipped pitched roof. Massively bricked long wing with an unfolded gable roof.
		Fahrhaus KGS no .: 15887	B.	G	Chancellor Street Rain 17 666 337  /  256502	Construction of the wall under a full hipped roof erected by Johann Moosbrugger in 1695, replaced a building first mentioned in 1418. Used as a tavern until 1857. On the second floor a former courtroom with a Régence stucco ceiling.
		Gwaggelibrugg KGS no .: 15888	B.	G	Monastery Peninsula 665.85 thousand  /  256,381	Pedestrian bridge over the Limmat, built around 1863, one of the oldest surviving cable bridges in Switzerland.
		Chancellery KGS-No .: 15889	B.	G	Chancellor Rainstrasse 11 666292  /  256480	Administration building from 1734 with living quarters, offices and representative rooms of the chancellor of the Wettingen monastery. Three-storey building with a bent hipped roof and sticky roofs.
		Tavern of the former cotton mill KGS-No .: 15890	B.	G	Chlosterbrüel 1-39 six hundred and sixty-six thousand four hundred fifty-two  /  256932	Forerunner of the central European standardized row houses. 20 mirrored, two-storey residential units. Built in 1875 to accommodate workers from the Kunz spinning mill.
		Limmatwerk KGS no .: 15891	B.	G	Kraftwerkstrasse six hundred sixty-six thousand five hundred and twenty-one  /  256623	In 1933 the EWZ hydropower plant at the Wettinger reservoir was completed. The weir and the machine house are built next to each other across the river on solid Molasse rock.
		Rote Trotte KGS-Nr .: 15892	B.	G	Vineyard- / Winzerstrasse 666986  /  258189	Trotte with an unknown year of construction (probably 17th century), first mentioned in 1504. Elongated building with a half-hipped roof, partly masonry, partly half-timbered.
		St. Antonius Church KGS no .: 15893	B.	G	Zentralstrasse 666,287  /  two hundred and fifty-seven thousand eight hundred and thirty-seven	Modern church building, built from 1952 to 1954 according to plans by Karl Higi . The controversial structure at the time consists of a steep, three-aisled hall. Skeleton pillars and roof beams made of exposed concrete. Spacious, noticeably higher choir with a flat apse; slightly inclined gable roof.
