This article is a listing of (alleged) members of the left- wing terrorist Red Army Faction (RAF), which existed from 1970 to 1998. Members of all three generations are recorded for the entire period.

Brigitte Asdonk 1947 was a founding member and involved in several bank robberies. Arrested in 1970. Released in 1982.
Ronald Augustin 1949 was a member of the first generation since 1971 . Imprisoned 1973–1980.
Andreas Baader 1943 1977 was a founding member and leader of the first generation, played a key role in the department store arson foundations in 1968 , carried out several bomb attacks in 1972, arrested in 1972 and sentenced to life imprisonment in 1977, died of suicide in 1977 .
Ingeborg Barz 1948 probably between 1972 and 1975 was a member of the first generation. Missed since 1972.
Verena Becker 1952 was only a member of the June 2nd Movement . Was forced free by the Lorenz kidnapping in 1975 , then joined the RAF. Arrested in 1977 and sentenced to life imprisonment. 1989 pardoned. In 2012 she was sentenced to another four years imprisonment for her involvement in the murders of Siegfried Buback and his companions .
Henning Beer 1958 was a member of the second generation , is the brother of Wolfgang Beer, was in hiding in the GDR from 1982 to 1990. 1991 sentenced to six years youth imprisonment. Released in 1995.
Wolfgang Beer 1953 1980 Member from 1973, imprisoned 1974 to 1978, fatally injured in 1980.
Monika Berberich 1942 Founding member of the RAF, was involved in the liberation of Andreas Baader , imprisoned from 1970 to 1988.
Peter-Jürgen Boock 1951 Member 1974 to 1980, built a rocket launcher for the attack on the Federal Prosecutor's Office in 1977, participated in the attempted kidnapping and murder of Jürgen Ponto and in the kidnapping and murder of Hanns Martin Schleyer in 1977, helped to prepare the hijacking of the plane "Landshut" in 1981 arrested, sentenced several times to life imprisonment in 1984/1986, released in 1998.
Waltraud Boock b. Liewald 1951 Married to Jürgen Boock since 1973. Involved in various RAF actions. Arrested in 1976 in a bank robbery in Vienna and sentenced in 1977 to 12 years and 6 months in prison. Released in 1987.
Sigurd Debus 1942 1981 robbed a bank, was in possession of explosives, died after a hunger strike among RAF prisoners and was force-fed, membership in the RAF has not been proven.
Karl-Heinz Dellwo 1952 was involved in the hostage-taking and murders in Stockholm , was sentenced to double life imprisonment in 1977 and released in 1995.
Elisabeth von Dyck 1950 1979 Briefly imprisoned in 1975 for arms smuggling, was shot by the police in Nuremberg in 1979 when she resisted being arrested again.
Gudrun Ensslin 1940 1977 was a founding member with a senior position, committed two arson attacks in 1968 , was involved in several bomb attacks and was arrested in 1972, died by suicide .
Knut Folkerts 1952 Involved in the murder of Federal Prosecutor General Siegfried Buback, killed a police officer, was sentenced to twice life imprisonment and released in 1995.
Ralf Friedrich 1946 was a member of the RAF since 1977, went underground in 1980 in the GDR. He was arrested in 1990 and released after imprisonment.
Burkhard Garweg 1968 is allegedly a former member of the third generation . Went underground around 1990. He is accused of membership in a terrorist organization . Together with Daniela Klette, Ernst Volker Staub and others, he is said to have been involved in the bomb attack against the Weiterstadt prison . He is still being searched for today.
Irene Goergens 1951 Founding member of the RAF. She was involved in the liberation of Andreas Baader and was imprisoned from 1971 to 1977.
Wolfgang Grams 1953 1993 initially only a supporter of the RAF, then an active member from 1984, involvement in the Rohwedder murder in 1991 is suspected, was killed in the attempted arrest in Bad Kleinen .
Manfred Grashof 1946 joined the RAF in 1970. In 1972 shot police officer Hans Eckhardt (50), then arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment. 1991 pardoned.
Wolfgang Grundmann 1948 joined the RAF in 1970. He was arrested in 1972 together with Manfred Grashof and convicted of membership in a terrorist organization and imprisoned until 1976.
Eric Grusdat 1936 was mainly responsible for the vehicle procurement in the first generation, imprisoned for bank robbery from 1970 to 1973.
Siegfried Haag 1945 1972 Andreas Baader's lawyer . Later also by Holger Meins . From 1975 member and manager of the second generation. Recruited several members. Involved in preparations for the Stockholm hostage-taking . Arrested in 1976. 1987 suspended sentence.
Katharina Hammerschmidt 1943 1975 Member of the first generation, surrendered to justice on June 29, 1972. While in custody, she developed cancer, from which she died in 1975. The state of Berlin was attributed complicity in her death because of “culpable violation of official duties”.
Eva Haule 1954 raided an arms shop for the RAF in 1984 and attempted a bomb attack on the NATO school in Oberammergau in the same year, murdered a US soldier in 1985, carried out an explosives attack on the Rhein-Main Air Base in Frankfurt (2 dead) Sentenced to life imprisonment, imprisoned from 1986 to 2007.
Siegfried Hausner 1952 1975 Member since 1974, involved in the Stockholm hostage-taking in 1975, died as a result of a self-triggered bomb explosion.
Rolf Heissler 1948 was married to RAF member Mohnhaupt from 1968 to 1970 , carried out a bank robbery in 1971, sentenced to six years' imprisonment in 1972, released by the Lorenz kidnapping in 1975, shot two Dutch customs officers in 1978, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1982, released in 2001 .
Monika Helbing 1953 was involved in the Schleyer kidnapping in 1977, in 1980 she went permanently to the GDR and lived undetected for ten years in Frankfurt (Oder), in 1990 sentenced to seven years under the leniency program , released in 1995.
Marianne Herzog 1939 her apartment was the meeting point of the group members several times, temporarily arrested in 1971.
Birgit Hogefeld 1956 was involved in the murder of the US soldier Edward Pimental , in the bomb attack on Rhein-Main Air Base , in the assassination attempt on State Secretary for Finance Hans Tietmeyer , arrested in 1993 during the GSG-9 mission in Bad Kleinen . Released from prison after 18 years in 2011.
Sieglinde Hofmann 1945 Involved in the attack on the Federal Prosecutor's Office building, the attack on NATO commander-in-chief Alexander Haig , the murder of Jürgen Pontos and the kidnapping of Schleyer . Arrested in 1980 and sentenced to life imprisonment. Released on parole in 1999.
Werner Hoppe 1949 was the first generation "car cracker" until 1971. Arrested in 1971, where he offered armed resistance and was convicted of attempted manslaughter . Released early in 1979 due to serious illness.
Klaus Jünschke 1947 In 1971, together with six other RAF members, participated in a bank robbery on the Bayerische Hypotheken- und Wechselbank in Kaiserslautern. The police officer Herbert Schoner was shot dead in this attack. Arrested on July 9, 1972 together with Irmgard Möller in Offenbach. Sentenced to life imprisonment on June 2, 1977. 1988 pardoned.
Christian Sure 1952 was a member of the RAF since 1976, was arrested in 1982 and 1985 a. a. Sentenced to five life imprisonment for the joint murder of Buback, Ponto and Schleyer, was released in December 2008.
Daniela Klette 1958 is considered a suspected member of the third generation and is suspected of having participated in at least two attacks and one robbery. She is still being searched for today.
Michael Knoll 1957 1978 was a member of the second generation who died of gunfire with the police.
Friederike Krabbe 1950 was an alleged member of the second generation and allegedly involved in the Schleyer kidnapping. Her whereabouts today are unknown.
Hanna Krabbe 1945 was involved in the hostage-taking at the German embassy in Stockholm in 1975, was sentenced to life imprisonment, pardoned in 1996 after 21 years in prison.
Christine Kuby 1957 shot two police officers in a pharmacy in Hamburg on January 21, 1978 when she was caught trying to obtain large quantities of painkillers using a fake prescription. She was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1979 and released in 1995.
Werner Lotze 1952 From 1978 member of the RAF, went underground in the GDR from 1980 to 1990, was sentenced to 12 years in prison in 1991 and later released. Made extensive information as part of the leniency program .
Angela Luther 1940 RAF member from 1971, went underground, probably dead.
Horst Mahler 1936 was a founding member, arrested in 1970 and sentenced to 14 years, released in 1980, then converted to right-wing extremist, was an NPD member from 2000 to 2003 .
Silke Maier-Witt 1950 was an RAF member from 1977, involved in the Schleyer kidnapping , from 1980 she lived under a false name in the GDR. Arrested in 1990 and sentenced to six years, released in 1995.
Ulrike Meinhof 1934 1976 was a journalist and founding member. In May 1970 she took part in the Baader liberation . 1972 involved in the bomb attack on the Axel Springer Verlag building. Arrested in 1972, sentenced to eight years in prison in 1974. In 1976 she hanged herself in her cell in the Stuttgart prison.
Holger Meins 1941 1974 Founding member, participated in attacks on US facilities in Frankfurt and Heidelberg in 1972, arrested on June 1, 1972 together with Andreas Baader and Jan-Carl Raspe, died in prison in 1974 as a result of a hunger strike .
Horst Ludwig Meyer 1956 1999 was suspected to have belonged to the command level of the third generation and to have been involved in the attack on Karl Heinz Beckurts in 1986, died in a firefight with the Austrian police.
Brigitte Mohnhaupt 1949 was an RAF member from 1971 and helped with organization, logistics and weapons procurement. In 1972 she was arrested and given a five-year prison term. Shortly after her release in 1977, she became a second generation leader, murdering the banker Jürgen Ponto . She is considered the link to the first generation. In 1981 she took part in the assassination attempt on US General Frederick Kroesen . Arrested in 1982 and sentenced to five life imprisonment, on 25 March 2007 on probation dismissed.
Irmgard Möller 1947 From 1971 member of the RAF, sentenced to life imprisonment in 1979 for triple murder. Möller is the only survivor of the 1977 night of death in Stammheim . She was released in 1995.
Gerhard Müller 1948 was a member of the first generation from 1971, was arrested on June 15, 1972, appeared in the Stammheim trial in 1975 as a key witness for the federal prosecutor, sentenced to ten years in prison, released early in 1978.
Juliane Plambeck 1952 1980 was originally a member of the June 2nd Movement . Involved in the Lorenz kidnapping , she was arrested in 1975. In 1976 she escaped from prison with others and was fatally in a car accident in 1980.
Helmut Pohl 1943 2014 Sentenced to life imprisonment in 1984 for participating in a bomb attack on US headquarters in Ramstein, pardoned in 1998.
Rolf Pohle 1942 2004 initially belonged to the APO and was AStA chairman of the University of Munich, sentenced to six and a half years in prison in 1974 for supporting the RAF, released in 1975 by the Lorenz kidnapping, arrested again in 1976 and released in 1982, died of cancer in 2004.

Jan-Carl Raspe 1944 1977 was a founding member, was arrested with Baader and Meins in Frankfurt in June 1972, sentenced to life imprisonment in 1975, died by suicide .
Bernhard Rössner 1946 belongs to the second generation, was involved in the hostage-taking of Stockholm and imprisoned from 1975 to 1993.
Karl-Heinz Ruhland 1938 belongs to the first generation, became the first key witness and was imprisoned for bank robbery from 1970 to 1974.
Petra Schelm 1950 1971 was a member of the first generation and was shot while attempting to arrest in Hamburg.
Margrit Schiller 1948 was a member of the first generation. Imprisoned from 1971 to 1973 and from 1974 to 1979, went into exile in Cuba in 1985.
Gert Schneider 1948 lived underground since September 1977 and was arrested on November 10, 1977 together with Christof Wackernagel in Amsterdam. Sentenced to 15 years in prison in 1980 and released in 1987.
Ingrid Schubert 1944 1977 was a founding member, was involved in the liberation of Andreas Baader and several bank robberies, sentenced in 1970 to 13 years in prison, died in 1977 by suicide in prison.
Adelheid Schulz 1955 was instrumental in the murder of Buback and his companions in April 1977 and in the Schleyer kidnapping in autumn 1977, arrested in 1982. Sentenced to three life imprisonment in 1985. Released in 1998 after 16 years in prison.
Ingrid Siepmann 1944 around 1982 was initially a member of the Movement June 2 , 1974 sentenced to 13 years imprisonment for bank robberies. Exchanged in 1975 for Peter Lorenz . Then Siepmann is said to have joined the RAF. Said to have died in the Lebanon war in 1982 . The warrant for her arrest has since been lifted.
Günter Sonnenberg 1954 was involved in the murder of the Federal Public Prosecutor Siegfried Buback and his two companions in 1977, arrested on May 3, 1977 seriously injured, sentenced to twice life imprisonment on April 26, 1978, released on parole on May 15, 1992.
Angelika Speitel 1952 Second generation member, involved in the Schleyer kidnapping, convicted of murder in 1979, pardoned in 1989.
Volker Speitel 1950 since 1975 a. a. worked as a courier, arrested on October 2, 1977. Testified against the RAF Command and was sentenced on December 14, 1977 to three years and two months in prison. Released September 1, 1979.
Ernst Volker Staub 1954 or 1957 is considered to be one of the last secured members of the RAF command level. Was involved on July 20, 1999 in the attack on a money transport in Duisburg and in the bomb attack on the Weiterstadt prison. He is still being searched for today.

Sigrid Sternebeck 1949 was a member of the second generation of the RAF since 1977. Involved in the assassination attempt on Alexander Haig and in the murder of Schleyer, she fled to the GDR in 1980, where she married Ralf Baptist Friedrich. Sentenced to eight years in prison in 1992.
Willy Peter Stoll 1950 1978 On July 1, 1977, he was involved with Knut Folkerts in an attack on an arms shop in Frankfurt, was involved in the preparations for the kidnapping of Schleyer, and was shot while attempting to arrest him.
Lutz Taufer 1944 participated in the Stockholm hostage-taking , arrested in 1977, released in 1996 after serving a life sentence.
Inge Viett 1944 moved from the June 2nd Movement to the RAF in 1980 , shot a police officer in Paris in 1981 . Viett fled to the GDR in 1982 and was arrested in 1990. She was sentenced to 13 years in prison in 1992 and parole in 1997.
Christof Wackernagel 1951 was arrested in November 1977, sentenced to 15 years in prison in 1980, and released in 1987. Since then active again as an actor.
Rolf Clemens Wagner 1944 2014 was involved in the Schleyer kidnapping in 1977 , carried out a bomb attack in 1979, was arrested in the same year and sentenced to two life sentences in 1985, pardoned in 2003.
Ulrich Wessel 1946 1975 was involved in the hostage-taking of Stockholm , where he died from a bomb misfire.
Stefan Wisniewski 1953 was involved in the Schleyer kidnapping , sentenced to life imprisonment in 1981, released in 1999.
