List of natural monuments in the Freistadt district

The list of natural monuments in the Freistadt district lists the objects designated as natural monuments in the Freistadt district in the federal state of Upper Austria . Of the 35 natural monuments, 23 protected objects are trees or groups of trees, twelve natural monuments are protected stone blocks. The trees and groups of trees designated as natural monuments include various native species, with seven natural monuments summer linden (Tilia platyphyllos) , four red beeches or copper beeches ( Fagus sylvatica or Fagus sylvatica f. Purpurea ), and five European yew trees (Taxus baccata ) include five winter lime trees (Tilia cordata) , and three common oaks (Quercus robur) . Spatially, the natural monuments are spread across the municipality of Unterweißbach , where there are five natural monuments alone. In addition, there are four natural monuments each in Gutau and Königswiesen and three monuments in Neumarkt im Mühlkreis .

		Larch in Rauchödt	nd318	Gruenbach KG:  Rauchenödt GrStNr: 601 Location	The European larch (Larix decidua) stands on the east side of the Oberrauchenödt church. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a circumference of 2.6 m (measured at chest height), a crown diameter of 19 m and a height of around 38 m.		09/24/1985
		yew	nd292	Gutau KG:  Gutau GrStNr: 1440 location	The European yew tree (Taxus baccata) is around 20 m east of the Staudinger farmhouse in Gutau. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a circumference at chest height of 1.7 m and a crown diameter of 10 m or a height of around 11 m.		02/06/1985
		Millennial beech	nd227	Gutau KG:  Erdmannsdorf GrStNr: 3430 location	The common beech (Fagus sylvatica) was at the Wimmer estate in Gutau. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a circumference of 5.6 m (measured at a height of 1 m), a crown diameter of 25 m and a height of around 25 m. Since the beech was already badly damaged, it was felled in autumn 2015.		07/12/1983
		Pechölstein in Hundsdorf	nd197	Gutau KG:  Hundsdorf GrStNr: 1362 location	The rock made of Weinsberger granite has chiseled grooves for the extraction of pitch oil. At the longest point it measures almost 7 meters, at the widest point 5.50 meters. It stands on the Gutau-Hundsdorf road around 100 m south of the Rehberger homestead and is also protected by the Monument Protection Act.		08/12/1983
		Rosner Stein (pitch oil stone)	nd207	Gutau KG:  Hundsdorf GrStNr: 1230 location	The rock made of Weinsberg granite measures around 5 × 3 m and reaches a height of up to 1.2 m. The slightly inclined surface has a leaf-shaped groove system. The stone is located around 200 m south of the Brandmayrhof on the Gutau-Pregarten road.		13.09.1983
		Linden tree in Hirschbach	nd301	Hirschbach im Mühlkreis KG:  Hirschbach GrStNr: 4089 location	The summer lime tree (Tilia platyphyllos) is in the center of Hirschbach at the cemetery and church exit. The natural monument originally consisted of two linden trees, but construction work on the cemetery wall damaged the roots of a tree so badly that in 2002 the protection of one of the linden trees was lifted. 		Obereibensteiner-Linden	nd321	Kaltenberg , Ebenort 14 KG:  Silberberg GrStNr: 2002; 2003 location	The summer lime tree (Tilia platyphyllos) is located at the Obereibensteiner farm, with one lime tree next to a chapel and one around 30 m away.		10/22/1985
		Twin linden tree	nd373	Kaltenberg KG:  Silberberg GrStNr: 1953 location	The summer linden tree, which consists of two trunks grown together, stands directly in front of the Untereibensteiner property in Kaltenberg. In February 2016 the tree had a waist circumference of 5.78 m.		04/13/1987
		Millennial yew in Harterleiten	nd664	Kefermarkt KG:  Harterleithen GrStNr: 645 location	The European yew tree (Taxus baccata) had a trunk circumference of 3.50 m, a crown diameter of 12 m and a height of 10 m at the time of the investigation. It is located in Harterleiten north of the Ledermühle or near the ÖBB route of the Summerauer Bahn . Their age has been estimated to be around 500 to 600 years.		07/16/2013
		Copper beech in Stifting	nd328	Königswiesen , Stifting 1 KG:  Stifting GrStNr: 16/1 location	The copper beech (Fagus sylvatica f. Purpurea) stands in front of the forester's house in Stifting 1. At the time it was placed under protection, the tree had a circumference of 3.2 m (at a height of one meter), a crown diameter of around 30 m and a height of around 25 m on.		07/11/1985
		Book stand in Mönchdorf	nd199	Königswiesen KG:  Mönchdorf GrStNr: 2616 location	The book stand is a rock formation made of Weinsberg granite, which is located on the edge of a wooded parcel, right next to the Ebenedt road. The book stand consists of four granite blocks standing next to each other with an average height of 5 m, a length of 3–5 m and a width of one meter. Note: coordinates are approximate		08/12/1983
		Rocking stone	nd240	Königswiesen KG:  Mötlas GrStNr: 2328/1 location	The rocking stone, made of Weinsberg granite and caused by weathering of wool sacks, is located on a hilltop about 200 m north of the Grufeneder property in the village of Mötlasberg.		04/01/1984
		Linden tree in Haid	nd565	Königswiesen , Haid 25 KG:  Haid GrStNr: 2688 location	The winter lime tree (Tilia cordata) is located opposite the Haid 25 farm. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a circumference of 5.6 m (measured at a height of 1 m), a crown diameter of 17 m and a height of around 25 m on.		02/03/1999
		Fürsteiche at the Weißenhof	nd351	Lasberg KG:  Steinbockhöf GrStNr: 327 location	The pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) , popularly known as "d'Weißenoacha", stands on the roadside of the Lasberger district road towards St. Oswald at the entrance to the grinding mill. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a circumference of 5.9 m (measured at chest height), a crown diameter of 25 m and a height of around 30 m.		07/17/1986

		2 linden trees in Hiltschen	nd665	Leopoldschlag KG:  Hiltschen GrStNr: 536 location	The two linden trees are on a dirt road about 450 meters west of the village of Leitmannsdorf. The larger linden tree had a waist circumference of 4.32 m in March 2016, the smaller linden tree, consisting of two trunks that had grown together, had a waist circumference of 3.33 m.		03/13/2014
		Kapellen-Linde in Liebenau ( Winter Linden (Tilia cordata) )	nd504	Liebenau KG:  Liebenau GrStNr: 2939/2 location	The Kapellen-Linde ( Winter Linden (Tilia cordata) ) stands at the eastern entrance to Liebenau next to a small chapel. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a circumference of 3.2 m (measured at a height of 1 m), a crown diameter of 13 m and a height of around 26 m.		04/06/1993
		yew	nd294	Neumarkt im Mühlkreis , Zissingdorf 1 KG:  Trosselsdorf GrStNr: 1515 location	The European yew tree (Taxus baccata) is located on the Silberndorfer Bezirksstraße around 250 m east of a farmhouse. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a circumference of 1.5 m (measured at a height of one meter), had a crown diameter of 7 m and a height of around 14 m.		06/24/1985

		Pitch oil stone	nd248	Schönau im Mühlkreis KG:  Kaining GrStNr: 1183/1 location	In contrast to other pitch oil stones, the rock made of Weinsberger granite, which is located approx. 100 meters east of the Ranzhuber property, has no system of grooves. Rather, it consists of an oval sacrificial bowl with dimensions of 120 × 70 cm and a depth of 10 cm, created by chemical-biological weathering. The dripping pitch gets through a hole into a vessel placed under the stone.		March 16, 1984

		Sycamore maple in Unterweißbach	nd320	Unterweißbach KG:  Landshut GrStNr: 1789 (old: 1435) location	The sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus) stands around 50 m west of the Grafenschlag supply road on the access road to houses Windhing 18 and 27. At the time it was placed under protection, the maple had a circumference of 5.5 m (at chest height) and a crown diameter of 23 m and a height of around 26 m. 		Oak	nd316	Unterweißbach KG:  Landshut GrStNr: 1036 location	The pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) is on the Riedmark-Landesstraße next to a chapel. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a circumference of 3.8 m (measured at a height of one meter), had a crown diameter of 16 m and a height of 15 m.
